  • Rafting and Kayaking

Rafting in Bhutan offers a unique way to experience the country’s untouched landscapes, as rivers wind through lush valleys, traditional villages, and dramatic mountain scenery. Unlike more commercial rafting destinations, Bhutan’s waterways remain largely unspoiled, providing a sense of exclusivity and tranquility alongside the adventure. Each journey reveals a different side of the country—from wide, gentle river stretches framed by rice fields to narrow channels with exciting rapids cutting through forested gorges.

With Xplore Bhutan, guests can choose from a range of experiences, from relaxed scenic floats ideal for beginners and families to more technical whitewater suited for experienced rafters and kayakers. Along the way, there are opportunities to spot birdlife, pass historic dzongs, and enjoy riverside picnics in serene natural settings.

Safety and expertise are at the core of every trip. Led by internationally trained and certified guides, and supported by top-quality equipment, each expedition is carefully planned to ensure a smooth and secure experience. Xplore Bhutan is also actively involved in river rescue operations and the training of Bhutan’s rescue teams, further reinforcing its commitment to the highest safety standards in the country.

The best seasons for rafting are spring (March–May) and autumn (November–December), when water levels and weather conditions are ideal. Whether as a standalone adventure or part of a broader journey, rafting in Bhutan offers an unforgettable blend of excitement, nature, and cultural discovery.
